The "Prelimninary" version of the updated Flood Plain maps have been received and are available for public review. These maps are available for viewing at City Hall during normal business hours. A formal public comment meeting will be scheduled in the near future. This meeting will be moderated by a representative of FEMA from the Denver Regional office. At this meeting the public will be encouraged to make comments on the preliminary mapping and submit formal written comments to FEMA. These comments will be reviewed by FEMA and appropriate alterations will be made to the mapping. After any changes are made the maps will be reprinted and resubmitted to the City. Six (6) months after the revised map is received by the City it will formally go into effect.
The "Ordinance Committee" continues to diligently work on updating the City Ordinances. They are nearing the end of the major process of reviewing all ordinances and completing necessary updates.
The roof replacement project for the Sturgis Community Center has been bid and awarded to "Lowe Roofing" from Whitewood. Work should begin soon and will be completed by March 31, 2008.
