GREEN THUMB GALA
Plants are on display now for our 1st Annual Green Thumb Gala! Stop by the library to view the beautiful variety of plants, flowers, and pots, and bid on your favorites. The silent auction will last through May 2, with the winning bids being awarded at that nights Gala held from 5pm-6pm at the library.

The newly expanded Sturgis Public Library is located on the corner of Sherman and 2nd Street alongside City Hall. The main library entrance is on 2nd Street, and the children's entrance is on Sherman Street. Our book drop is located at our 2nd Street entrance. Our address remains 1040 2nd St. Please stop by and see all that our new building has to offer!

Circulation Information
• Computer access to South Dakota Library Network
• Public Access Computers
• Free Interlibrary Loan for books, magazine articles and census microfilm unavailable locally (limit: two requests at a time).
• Meeting area for non-profit community groups. (Reservations requested.)
• Genealogy Collection
• South Dakota Collection
• Preschool Story Time and summer reading programs for children and teens
• Anyone living in Sturgis, Meade County, or in the Meade 46-1 School District is eligible for a card.
• People whose government unit does not support the library may purchase an annual out-of-town membership.
• Circulating materials are loaned for three weeks.
• Videos and DVDs are loaned for TWO days.
• Materials may be renewed by telephone unless there is a hold request on that item.
• Circulating materials may be reserved.
• Overdue fines are 10 cents a day for books and regular materials and $2.00 a day per video or DVD.
Obituary Requests
Please email the library with your obituary requests. Include full name and date of death, if possible. We request a flat $5.00 research fee, which includes up to five obituaries. Additional obituaries may be requested at $2.00 apiece. Obituaries can be sent to you as PDF files through email. For print copies, additional fees for postage and printing will apply.
Friends of the Library Membership forms are available at the library. There is a $10.00 yearly membership fee. Please contact Judy Hughes @ 347-5050 or Francie Ruebel Alberts @ 347-5644.
School Services
Teachers: Please contact Joanne to request educational videos, materials, and resources from the Sturgis Public Library regular and children's collections. Book Boxes containing fictional and non-fictional books are also available.
Bookmobile Please contact Joanne with questions or requests for county bookmobile services. For those patrons on the bookmobile route who have Sturgis Library cards, we provide regular pick up and delivery of books to the schools on the route and to the Mall at Union Center.
Various adult and children's fiction and non-fiction books, along with videos and audio books are available for anyone to check out (no library card required) at Alkali, Hereford, Elm Springs, Opal, Sulphur and Atall Schools and at the Union Center Mall.
We've come a long way since 1922!
