PROCEEDINGS OF THE STURGIS CITY COUNCIL – SEPTEMBER 29, 2006

The Common Council of the City of Sturgis met in adjourned session on Friday, September 29, 2006 at 8:00pm at City Hall. Present: Alderpersons Roger Call (by phone), Penny Green, Sherry Scudder (by phone), Terry Jensen, Pokey Jacobson, Mark Chaplin (by phone), Steve Anders (by phone) & Bev Patterson. Absent: None.

Motion by Jensen and second by Anders to approve second reading of Ordinance 2006-20 - Annual Appropriations for Fiscal Year 2007 as presented.

Motion by Green, second by Patterson & failed, with Call, Anders, Scudder, Jensen, Chaplin & Jacobson voting no, to amend Ordinance 2006-20 to decrease the Chamber of Commerce funding by $20,000 and to allocate those funds to other various special interest groups.

The vote on the original ordinance was taken with Call, Anders, Scudder, Jensen, Chaplin & Jacobson voting in favor of and Patterson & Green voting in opposition to. Motion carried. The complete ordinance is on file at City Hall.

Motion by Jacobson, second by Green & carried to adjourn the meeting at 8:20am.
