Volunteering with the City
The City of Sturgis relies on the generous donation of time and talents by many wonderful community volunteers. Without the efforts of our dedicated volunteers, the City would be more limited in its ability to serve the needs of our community.  We encourage our citizens and the general public to volunteer with us.

To Volunteer at the Community Center, Library or Parks Departments:
Please fill out a Volunteer Application Form. This allows us to better administer and manage our volunteer programs. Submit your volunteer application to the Human Resources Department. (For volunteers under the age of 18, we require an authorization from your parent or guardian and, we do not accept volunteers under the age of 14.)
To Volunteer with the Fire or Police Departments:
For those interested in emergency response or emergency management, we have volunteer opportunities through the Sturgis Fire Volunteer Department, the Sturgis Reserve Officers, and the Volunteers in Public Safety

To volunteer for a Board or Commission:
For those interested in applying to sit on a City Board or Commission, please submit an Application for
Board/Committee/Commission Appointment.  These volunteer appointments must be confirmed by the City Manager and/or City Council depending on the Commission.

All volunteers must submit a volunteer application form and be approved by the Department Head.

The City does not guarantee that it will be able to accommodate your request to volunteer.

Volunteers are not employees of the City and do not receive payment or other non-monetary compensation from the City for their volunteer services.

Thank you again for volunteering with the City. We appreciate you and your volunteering efforts!
