General Information
This page is your one-stop shop for all media related to the City of Sturgis.  If you are a member of the press (local or visiting) and you will be in Sturgis for the Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™, please register..  By being a registered Media person, you will be invited to attend the daily press conferences and you can opt in to receive the daily press releases that will keep you informed of what's happening during the Rally.

Media is allowed into most public areas including the Photo Towers on Main Street by showing your City of Sturgis media credentials.  The City of Sturgis does not require a film permit.

Media Center
The City of Sturgis hosts a media center in the Sturgis Community Center located at 1401 Lazelle Street.  The media center will be open August 4-11, 2017 from 9AM until 4pm daily.  The center provides a place to stop in and ask questions, pick up maps and schedules, charge your phone, use the wi-fi or just take a break.  

There will be a press conference held daily at the Media Center at 1:00pm.  The Police Chief and representatives from several other law enforcement agencies along with special guests will be present at this press conference.  Interviews with these representatives and guests will be available at this time.

All City of Sturgis sponsored events will be listed here:   

Opening Ceremonies - Friday, August 4 (time & location TBA)

Mayor's Ride - Monday, August 7.  To participate, Pre-Registration is Required.  Ride leaves from the Sturgis Community Center (1401 Lazelle) at 9:00 am sharp.

Military Appreciation Day - Tuesday, August 8.  A recognition ceremony will take place at 2:00 pm west of the Sturgis Community Center.  Military flyover of Main Street will take place at 3:00 pm weather permitting. 

Tattoo Contest - Tuesday, August 8 at Harley-Davidson Rally Point.  Registration begins at 5:00 pm and Judging will take place at 6:00 pm. 

Sturgis 5K Fun Run/Walk.  Wednesday, August 9.  Registration starts at 6:00 am at the Sturgis Brown High School on the eastern side of the city. (Take Lazelle east approximately .5 miles east of City Park on the left. 12930 E. Hwy 34.)  The race course includes Main Street and ends at the VIP Hospitality Village on Lazelle.  Proceeds go to the Sturgis Animal Shelter.

Street Food Throw-Down Winners announced on Thursday, August 10 at noon at Harley-Davidson Rally Point.

Beard & Mustache Contes - Wednesday, August 9 starting at 5:00 pm at Harley-Davidson Rally Point.
