Sunday, May 15th:
9:00am - Sturgis Fire Hall
We will trying to set a World Record for number of people trained on an AED (automated external defibrillator) device.  An AED device is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the life-threatening cardiace arrhythmias in a patient, which can lead to cardiac arrest.  If necessary, the device will treat the patient through a series of electric shocks to the heart which allows the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm.  AEDs are located throughout the Sturgis community and can truly save a life.  They are easy to use and provide step-by-step instructions.  However, familiarity with the device can be helpful in an emergency, so stop by and learn how to use an AED.

1pm:  Woodle Field
Come cheer on our EMS providers in a fun, interagency Track Meet.

Monday, May 16th:
8am until 3:00pm - Elementary School Visitations
We will be hosting local elementary school children for a visit to the station.  We will be teaching children how to make good 9-1-1 calls.  Kids will be able to meet emergency providers and see the inside of an ambulance.  Making children familiar with EMS providers helps everyone involved in an emergency situation.
