2015 Rally Reports

2015 Statistics     Including attendance numbers, Vending Licenses, Marriage Licenses and other general statistics.  This chart compares 2015 numbers with previous Rally statistics.

Vendor Sales Per Traffic Count  in 2015 shows a steep increase from 2012 until 2015.  Part of the increase is due to effort by the Sturgis Police Department to step up enforcement of sales tax reporting by temporary vendors.  In 2015 The Sturgis City Council enacted an ordinance requiring all vendors to provide point of sale receipts to customers and to also maintain physical receipts for auditing purposes.  The increased enforcement combined with ordinance changes has resulted in more taxes being accurately reported during the Rally event.

Sales Tax History from 2010 through 2015 shows that both general sales tax and the special BBB sales tax (which includes a special tax for alcohol, hotels & lodging and to-go food) also increased significantly in 2015.  This data reflects the general summer months including the specific Rally period.  State sales tax reports do not reflect specific dates of collections.

Over all, 2015 Rally income and expenses were up for the 75th Anniversary year.  This Income & Expense Report is also a comparison of data from 2011 through 2015.  It includes more detailed data showing more specific income and expense line items.
