Funeral services for David Fischer have been scheduled. Fischer, an Assistant Chief with the Sturgis Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service and a Staff Sgt. with the South Dakota National Guard, was killed Friday battling a structure fire in Tilford, SD.  All are welcome to honor our hero and mourn with his family, friends and all whose life he touched.

Funeral services are set for 1:00 pm MDT on Saturday, September 15. Services will take place in the west gymnasium at Sturgis Brown High School, 12930 SD Highway 34 in Sturgis. Internment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery. A procession from Brown High School to Black Hills National Cemetery will take place immediately following funeral services. Procession information will be released when details are finalized so that those wishing to pay their respects may line the procession route if they so choose.

Public visitation will take place at the Sturgis Community Center, 1401 Lazelle Street in Sturgis, on Thursday September 13 from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm.   Arrangements are being made through Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
