The 2021 Food Drive will utilize the same format as in 2020. 
Drop-off locations will be set up in various areas from 9 am until noon. There will be volunteers at each location to assist with unloading food items, so little to no contact will be required. 

Drop-off locations include the following:
Lynns Dakotamart on Lazelle
Sturgis Elementary - driveway across from the fire hall
Grocery Mart on Junction Ave
Sturgis Food Pantry at 801 6th Street

The Sturgis Food Pantry serves residents of Meade County at no cost. Pantry users can visit the pantry once a month. Items in the pantry are provided by private donations, the federal government, and Feeding South Dakota.  All families are required to register and pre-qualify to receive food items based on income and need.  The Kiwanis food pantry is run by unpaid volunteers.  The pantry is open on Wednesday and Friday from 9 am and 11:45 am.  Anyone wishing to be a part of this effort may contact any member of Kiwanis at the pantry during the hours listed.

Suggested food items include canned vegetables, macaroni & cheese, any type of pasta, pasta sauces, jams, jellies, peanut butter, condiments, hamburger helper, small containers of oil, canned fruit, cereal, flour, sugar, cake mixes, canned stew, tuna, spam, chili, and mayonnaise.
