The Sturgis Area Arts Council Drama Committee is planning its 4th Annual Progressive Theater event. This enjoyable evening will include three one-act plays at three venues in Sturgis — one play at each local business on Friday, Feb. 24. Food will be served at each stop along the way. The audience will be limited to 84 (28 at each venue) and the audience will rotate as the evening ‘progresses.’ The $25 tickets will go on sale on Friday, Jan. 27 at noon and will only be available by telephoning Chris (605-347-1795) or Marlene (605-347-1375). Each caller will be limited to six tickets. No pre-sale reservations will be offered. Share the information with theater-lovers so that everyone knows this will be the only opportunity to obtain tickets. The sales sometimes go very quickly, so be ready to call at noon.
Most especially, actors are needed for the plays. Maybe you’ve thought about getting involved in acting in Sturgis but haven’t had the time to commit to some of the longer plays. This might be the perfect opportunity for you to be part of a short production with minimal preparation and rehearsal time which you can set within your group. For more information or to try out your acting skills, contact any member of the SAAC Drama Committee or go to the Arts Council's contact page (Sturgis Area Arts Council (sturgisarts.org) scroll down to “drama” and send them an e-mail.
