This season of MusicSpeaks starts off with a celebration of the 100th anniversary of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue for piano and orchestra. A groundbreaking work, it is perhaps the first great blending of American music and the European Classical tradition.  Gershwin himself played the solo piano at the premiere and it has become one of the most played piano concertos in the world.
