Job Description:

The Sturgis Public Library is looking for an Assistant Director to assist in directing the operations, programs, and services of the city library. Main duties will include overseeing collection maintenance, development, and cataloging. Other duties include assisting with circulation desk duties and patron services, scheduling staff, curating monthly art shows, and related duties. The schedule will include some nights and weekends.

The requirements for the job include a bachelor’s degree (a minor in library science is desirable) and at least two years’ experience in a public or college/university library. Our ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in library and information sciences, at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role at a public or college/university library, and training in MARC format cataloging.
