Salary range: Salary Range - $58,000-$60,000 DOE
Location: Sturgis City Hall (1040 Harley-Davidson Way)
Department: City Hall
Hours: Full-time (40 hours a week), non-exempt with limited overtime opportunities. Eligible for benefits.
Job Description:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the City of Sturgis, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This position involves preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Cash Receipting/Accounts Receivable
- Treasury Management
- Audit & Internal Controls
- Financial Reporting
- Support to Utility Billing
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business-related field. (Required)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance, with a preference of municipal or governmental accounting experience. (Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial management systems.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
SALARY:
- Salary Range-$55,000-$60,000 DOE
