Sturgis Rotaract Club Completes Outdoor Musical Instruments Project at Sturgis City Park

STURGIS  – The Sturgis Rotaract Club is proud to announce the installation of two new outdoor musical instruments at Sturgis City Park, further enhancing the community’s interactive music space. Over the past year, the club has been dedicated to raising funds for this project, building on the success of the previously installed conga drum set.

Thanks to strong community support and partnerships with local businesses, the Rotaract Club successfully raised just over $12,000. The new additions – a Jingle Metallophone and Warble Chimes – are now installed and ready for the public to enjoy.

Fundraising efforts included creative and engaging events such as Music Bingo, Trivia Nights, and Legos & Lagers, hosted with the support of Sturgis Brewing Company and Bullwacker’s Saloon & Steakhouse in Whitewood. The project was further bolstered by a $4,500 Rotary District Grant, generous sponsorships, and donations from the citizens of Sturgis.

“This is an exciting time for our club as our vision and dream has finally come to life,” said Hans Nelson, President of the Sturgis Rotaract Club. “About three years ago we wanted to do something for the community of Sturgis and music has always been a part of our DNA. Each month we kept hosting small, grass-roots fundraisers and it all paid off. We are so thankful for our community partnerships and most of all the City of Sturgis for allowing us to install these cool, one-of-a-kind instruments for people of all ages to enjoy some outdoor musical fun.”

With these additions, Sturgis City Park now features three interactive instruments designed to bring joy, creativity, and togetherness to both residents and visitors.

The Sturgis Rotaract Club extends heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed their time, energy, and resources to make this project a reality.
