Sturgis invites nonprofits to participate in Rally Photo Tower fundraising opportunity

STURGIS  – The City of Sturgis is inviting local nonprofit organizations to take part in a unique fundraising opportunity during the 2026 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally by hosting the popular Main Street Photo Tower.

Nonprofits selected as hosts will be assigned one day to operate the photo tower, located at the corner of Main Street and Junction Avenue, during the nine days it is open, from Friday, Aug. 7, through Saturday, Aug. 15. Participating organizations will collect and retain all suggested donations and additional contributions generated during their assigned day.

“This is a great opportunity for our nonprofit partners to raise funds while also connecting with the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to Sturgis each year,” said Deb Holland, Director of Communications & Outreach. “It’s a fun, visible way to support your mission and be part of the Rally experience.”

The photo tower has proven to be a successful fundraiser for past host organizations, offering high visibility and steady foot traffic throughout the Rally. The city provides a ticket booth equipped with electricity and air conditioning, and hosting groups may display signage and information about their organization while operating the tower.

Hosts are expected to staff the tower from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on their assigned day, with at least two adults present at all times. The suggested donation for visitors to use the tower is $5 per person, with all proceeds going directly to the hosting nonprofit. Groups will also be responsible for enforcing time limits and ensuring safety guidelines are followed.
