STURGIS – Absentee voting for the City of Sturgis Special Election begins Monday, May 18, at the Sturgis Finance Office.
Registered voters who wish to cast their ballot before Election Day may do so during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1040 Harley-Davidson Way.
The special election will be held Tuesday, June 2, at the in the Theater Lobby and Meade Room at the Sturgis Community Center.
Candidates for mayor are Rod Bradley, Richelle Bruch and Tammy Bohn. The mayor’s seat became vacant following the resignation of Kevin Forrester. Mayor Pro Tempore Tony Dargatz continues serving in the interim until the newly elected mayor is sworn into office.
Candidates for the Ward 1 City Council seat are Brenda Vasknetz and Terry Keszler. The Ward 1 seat became vacant following the resignation of Nick Jones.
