City Council Meeting Information

The Sturgis City Council meets on the first and third Monday of each month.  Occasionally, the meeting date is adjusted due to holidays or special meetings being scheduled.  You can check the iCompass meeting portal to see when the next meeting is scheduled.  All public meetings are posted on the iCompass portal including City Council, Planning Commission, Municipal Utility Board (MUB), Park Board, and the Board of Trustees of the Sturgis Public Library. 

Agendas are finalized on the Thursday prior to the meeting; however, changes can take place up to 24-hours prior to the meeting.  To view upcoming meeting dates and agendas, go to the iCompass meeting portal.  Support documents including reports, claims, resolutions, and other information related to the meeting agenda items will be posted on the iCompass meeting portal as well.  Older agendas (2018-2020) are located on the agenda archive page.

Minutes from the Council meetings are available following formal approval by the Council. Minutes are posted by meeting date in the iCompass meeting portal.  Minutes from 2017-2020 can be found on the minutes archive page. Meeting videos - As of April 6, 2020, Council meetings are recorded and streamed via Facebook Live.   All public meetings are now livestreamed. To view a video, go to the iCompass meeting portal as well as the City Facebook page or the PIOSturgis YouTube page.

Citizen Request to be on City Council Agenda 
Citizens may request to be formally placed on the City Council agenda. Please submit the e-form on the iCompass meeting portal.    Submissions must be made 15 days prior to the Council meeting in order to be included on the next Council meeting agenda.
