Vanocker Canyon Bike Path   

In 2019, Sturgis was awarded a $400,000 Transportation Alternative grant from the SD Department of Transportation (SDDOT) to build 4,000 linear feet of Bike Path to connect the existing Deadman Trail to the South Sturgis Trail System. 
The proposed route was approved in the Sturgis Bike Path Comprehensive Plan. See phase 3 on Bike Map.  The SDDOT is responsible for administering bids for the Vanocker Canyon Bike Path Project.  The project is expected to be constructed in 2021.  

The additional curb, gutter and stormwater upgrades within this project will greatly enhance the area and will provide further safety measures.
