On February 16,2 016 the Sturgis Public Works Director asked the City Council to approve a bid from North Star Construction of Spearfish to complete the necessary work required for the Anna Street Drainage Project. The bid was for $783,305 which was the lowest of the five bids received.
Funding for the project will be partially paid through the Scott Peterson Motors TIF#11. An additional $400,000 will come from the Capital Improvement budget.
Following two years of planning and public input, the Council approved the bid citing the improvements will provide a significant reduction to the potential for future property damage and possibly a loss of life in the areas affected by the improvements. A start date is not yet known, however, the project must be complete prior to July 31, 2016.
