Overview of Municipal Government
The Sturgis City Council's role of setting policy is imperative to the successful functioning of the municipal government as we strive to create and maintain the type of community our residents and citizens wish to live in.

Through the below links, the City hopes to provide potential and new Council members with an overview of municipal government and explanation of the various roles and responsibilities that the Council plays in governing the City.  The hope is, that with this information, citizens considering running for an elected position will have a useful resource to understand what their three year commitment entails.  For those citizens who are elected, this resource is meant to help them hit the ground running so that they can quickly become an active participant in the policy setting processes.
