Treatment Ponds
Our Wastewater Facility Operations consist of four treatment ponds, which are sometimes referred to as lagoons.

Three of the ponds are located 1 1/2 miles east of Sturgis on Highway 34. The other storage pond is located east of Sturgis on Highway 79 and is used for irrigation purposes.

Rain Reels
We have four rain reels used for irrigation. The rain reels are capable of distributing 400 gallons of water per minute, per gun. This is applied as a spray and used to irrigate the City property located east of the City on Highway 79.

The rain reels are all computerized, and can be set to come in from a run at a certain time. They can be pulled out as far as 1,000 feet.
