Recycling Program

About Our Municipal Program

In 2011, the City was awarded a $25,000 grant from the State to assist with implementing a recycling program.  A recycling fee of $1.00 was added to city utility bills in 2010 to help cover the purchase of recycling containers.

As the Recycling Program grows, curbside collections may become
available in the future.

Establishment of a recycling program has been identified in public
surveys as a priority among Sturgis residents.

Recycling bins are available for collecting plastic, glass, newsprint and
other recyclable materials.  See below for a list of items acceptable for recycling.
