The Municipal Utility Board governs the Sturgis Water Department. The Mayor of the City of Sturgis appoints the three-man board on staggered six-year terms. The MUB has taken a progressive approach to provide water service to the City. Since its inception in 1979, they have completed numerous projects to keep up with the development of the City.
Recently, water main replacement and upgrades have been taking place within the City. Some of these projects, include those located on Lazelle Street, Junction Avenue, Highway 14A, Dudley Street and Williams Street. A new high pressure main and new well was added at the Industrial Park. The Water Departments' long-range plan is a continuation of this progressive approach to providing top quality water service to the Sturgis community.
