The Planning Department works closely with the City Manager when planning and administering contracts for special community development-related projects and ensures the City's development-related activities are in line with the long-range Comprehensive Plan for the community and are in compliance with state and federal requirements.  The Planning Department also coordinates requests for variances, plats, and other zoning-related items.
