Location
The Parks Department office is located within the Public Works campus at 1057 Dudley Street. Please feel free to contact the Parks Department or any of the Park board members with comments or questions.

Our Parks
The Parks Department is dedicated to providing beautiful parks and recreation areas for the enjoyment of the public.   Download the Map of Park Locations, or browse the interactive map below.

Our park and recreation areas currently consist of the following:

  • Sturgis City Municipal Park
  • Woodland Park
  • Centennial Park
  • Meade Avenue Park
  • Rose Park
  • Willow Park
  • Starline Avenue Park
  • 6th Street Playground, Sturgis Baseball Complex
  • Sturgis Girls Softball Complex
  • Fort Meade Softball Complex
  • Sturgis Tennis Court Complex
  • Hills and Plains Park
  • Sturgis Soccer Complex
  • Barry Stadium
  • Sturgis Fairgrounds
  • Exit 30

To reserve a park shelter, visit the Park Shelter page.  Not all shelters require a reservation.

Responsibilities
The Parks Department is responsible for maintaining over 100 acres of park/recreation property (including property located at Fort Meade). We work with many sports groups to ensure the use of the recreation areas and help many organizations set up for special events during the year.

Here are a few examples of various events that the Parks Department helps with:

  • Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
  • Mustang Rally
  • Camaro Rally
  • Arts & Crafts Festivals
  • Summer Sizzler
  • Downtown Beautification
  • S-curve clean-up
  • Earth Day and Arbor Day celebration and activities
  • Various fairground events
  • Half-mile Motorcycle Race
  • Supermoto Races in downtown
  • High School Regional Rodeo
  • Relay for Life

The City of Sturgis partners with many groups to offer over 20 miles of recreational trails in and around the city.  Some trails are perfect for an afternoon stroll while others can be an all-day adventure.
